What a yoga weekend reminded me about community and an invitation to gather
Hello lovely people,
After a wonderful yoga weekend spent with beautiful people, I came home thinking about how much it matters to be together.
Practising alongside others, sharing conversations, laughing over something small… these moments reminded me of the importance of sangha: a community of people practising and learning together.
And I realised that this is something I would love to create with you.
We communicate so much. But do we feel connected?
So much of our day happens through a screen. We answer messages, watch videos, read advice and open another tab because, apparently, the seventeen already open were insufficient.
Sometimes ChatGPT gets more of our questions than our friends do. No judgement, I do it too…!
Technology can be helpful. Still, I find myself craving those moments when someone listens, asks a thoughtful question and gives me time to answer.
A conversation where I can pause, lose my words or say, “Actually, today has been difficult.”
Connection is part of how we meet stress
Our responses to stress are influenced by the support around us. Research suggests that supportive contact with someone we trust can soften some of the brain’s responses to threat. The quality of that relationship matters, too.
For me, this is a reminder to make room for relationships alongside my individual practices.
I love meditation, pranayama and quiet time. I also value hearing someone say, “I understand what you mean.”
Especially when the subject is something we don’t always find easy to discuss.
If you are navigating a missing or irregular period, perhaps you recognise this. You may have questions, frustrations or feelings that are difficult to explain to someone who has never experienced it.
Sometimes, having space to speak honestly can mean a great deal.
So, let’s gather
On Saturday 31 October at 7 p.m. India time, I’m hosting a free online women’s circle for women navigating missing or irregular periods, including hypothalamic amenorrhea.
We’ll make space for:
Honest conversation about the emotional side of this experience.
Reflection on rest, self-compassion and reconnecting with our bodies.
A short, gentle guided practice.
You can share or simply listen. No yoga experience is needed, and there is no expectation to arrive feeling calm or knowing exactly what you need.
And yes, we will meet through a screen! This time, we’ll use it to bring our voices and experiences into a shared conversation.
I’ll guide the gathering through my training and lived experience. It’s a space for connection and well-being support alongside appropriate professional care.
Would you like to join us?
Reply to this email with “YES”, and I’ll send you the details and joining link.
You’re also welcome to ask a question before deciding.
I’m looking forward to getting to know some of you beyond these letters—and beginning a little community together.
With love,
Audrey xx
That’s it for this week.
Until our next little catch-up 🤍
I hope you leave this letter with something useful, a little encouragement and the feeling that you’re not navigating these changes alone.
I’ll keep sharing practical yoga and Ayurveda-inspired tips, honest reflections from my life and discoveries from my travels—with room for the days when things feel a little messy.
With love,
Audrey
